S.O.S Christmas 2018

Season of Sacrifice, some gave all, all can give some.

There is no better way to give at Christmas time, then to give to the children of our fallen American defenders of freedom.

We began our S.O.S Christmas program in 2018 to give back to the children and families of our servicemen and women, they have sacrificed much, and need to hear from the American people during this special time of the year.

Lost in the busy-ness of the Christmas season are the children of our fallen heroes, who sometimes wake up Christmas morning missing their mom or dad and perhaps not understanding why they are gone. Another question the children of our fallen ask is, “Does anyone even care that I’ve lost my parent, did it really even matter?”

ASC and thousands of American citizens aim to answer those questions with a resounding YES!

Together, we will be responsible for over 500 Gold Star children having a blessed Christmas morning.
There will be caring folks from Tennessee and the Tri-State areas giving back to these children through ASC’s S.O.S Christmas, giving these special military children reason to smile when they wake up on Christmas day. With the love that the Christmas season offers and through your help these children will know that it did matter, and we do care!

There are two ways to participate in ASC’s S.O.S Christmas:

1. Make a Donation: Donate here, so they can reach as many children as possible this Christmas. Your donations are appreciated, and A Soldier’s Child is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization and all gifts are tax deductible. ASC has an overall average of 87% of every dollar spent going to the children in programs and services.

2. Sponsor a Family: Make a personal connection by selecting an ASC family to sponsor. This can be a great opportunity for families to experience the gift of giving and the true meaning of Christmas.

Here’s How Sponsoring a Family Works:

STEP ONE: You will first select either the “Tennessee SOS Event Button” or the “Tri-State SOS Event Button.” We will have families with one child and families with up to 5 children and more available for sponsorship. The Tri-State button are for children that live in NY, NJ or Connecticut.

STEP TWO: You will purchase gifts for each child. Our goal is for each child to receive 3-5 gifts with an overall value of $100 or more per child. We have compiled a list of suggested gift items for various age groups, which you may view here. Many families have provided a “wish list” for each child. YOU MUST USE THIS LIST, when provided.

STEP THREE (optional): We encourage you to include a personal note to the recipient family, and if desired, you may include your contact information. Many times, the recipient family wishes to send a note of thanks back to the sponsoring family, and this will allow them to do so.

STEP FOUR: Please bring all presents, wrapped and tagged with the children’s name and family number on the outside of every gift. Please bring all wrapped gifts in an orderly fashion on either Saturday Dec 8th (TN) or Saturday December 15th (Tri-State area) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

Drop-Off Location for the Tri-State SOS Event is: Francis Lewis High School 58-20 Utopia Pkwy Fresh Meadows, NY 11365. Drop-Off Location for Tennessee SOS Event is: Providence United Methodist Church, 2293 South Rutland Road, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122 or Faith is the Victory Church, 3344 Walton Lane, Nashville TN, 37216..

You will also need to bring the sponsor sheet, which will be emailed to you upon confirmation of your sponsorship. This is a list of what was purchased by you for each child and the approximate dollar amount spent on each item. If a group of people are shopping for a family, all presents must be delivered at the same time to ensure none of the gifts are mixed up.
