Sonya Tate is from Sparta, TN and has been living in Murfreesboro for 11 years. Sonya has been married for 28 years to Tony Tate from Erie, PA, and they have a combined 4 kids total and 4 beautiful grandkids. Only one granddaughter lives in Murfreesboro, TN, and attends Providence Christian Academy. Sonya served in the Navy for 2 years and enjoyed cooking at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, met Tony, who was a Corpsman. She worked at the VA Hospital in Erie, PA, attended JH Thompson Business School of Erie, PA. She has over 25 years of collections/accounts receivables experience and has been able to travel the US doing so. She acts as the Office Manager Venture Express Inc. and has been there 11 years. She also helps with 1st Shot Basketball Youth Organization and attends North Boulevard Church of Christ.

​She enjoys giving back to the community when she can and loves serving others to make sure they are taken care of. Being a part of A Soldier’s Child as they embrace the kids that have lost parents makes her even prouder to be involved.
