David D. Delk was born in Orangeburg, SC and moved to Chapel Hill, TN at a young age. Upon graduation from Forrest High School, he joined the Tennessee Army National Guard in 1992 and served 6 years. During this time, he also attended The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, graduating in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. After several years of working for Charleston Marine Containers Inc. and Leopard Inc., both U.S. Department of Defense contractors, David took a position with First Commerce Bank in his hometown of Chapel Hill in 2004 where he currently holds the position of Senior Vice President. David is married to his wonderful wife Larissa and they have two children, Sydney, and Sutton.
David became aware of A Soldier’s Child Foundation in 2013 and has been hooked ever since. Being a childhood friend of USMC Staff Sgt. Marcus Golczynski, KIA in Iraq in 2007, he felt obligated to care for and mentor those children left behind by our fallen American heroes. He currently serves ASC by coordinating hunting/fishing outings, serves on the Annual Dinner Banquet Committee and serves on the Annual ASC Golf Scramble Committee. David states, “While there are other philanthropic causes to be associated with, none capture your heart and soul like A Soldier’s Child Foundation. Having the opportunity to associate with and mentor the children of our fallen American heroes is truly awe-inspiring… and the leadership and staff at ASC do a wonderful job molding it together for all involved. I am very appreciative and honored to be associated with ASC.”
