JoJo grew up on a farm in Maine. She has a twin brother and three other siblings. She and her husband Daryl met during her sophomore year of college and were married in 1995. Their first child Zachariah was born in Maine in 2001 and three years later, after a move to Tennessee, twins Nadia and Malakai were born.

JoJo has been a teacher for twenty years, has authored a book, and traveled the country speaking to large and small audiences about finding purpose in life's pain. She graduated with her Masters degree in Biblical Studies this spring, launched her own twins off to college at Mississippi State, retired from teaching, and is honored to join the amazing team at A Soldier's Child as Director of Operations. Even though she's experiencing an empty nest, her heart is full!
