Out of the Shadows
Since 2008, A Soldier’s Child Foundation has existed to serve the children of our fallen military. During the past 18 years, we have answered the call to reach these special American children in their darkest moments, and to offer them Love, Honor, and Hope in Jesus.
But the reality is, there is a great need—and a great opportunity—to prevent the leading cause of children joining our program today: veteran PTSD suicide.
We are excited to share that we are creating a full-length documentary called Out Of The Shadows. This documentary highlights the lives of veterans who have faced PTSD, their journey toward recovery, and where struggling veterans can find the help they need. It is raw and real. Our desire is to help stop the epidemic of veteran suicide by showing there is hope and a different path through our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Every day, veterans lose their lives because of the trauma they have endured. When a veteran dies by suicide, the pain and suffering do not end, they are carried by the wives and children left behind. At ASC, we witness this firsthand through the families we minister to.
This documentary will also provide several amazing, God-centered resources where veterans and their families can find help and healing.
Psalm 34:18 — “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
