Ray Villanueva was raised in Manteca, California, where he grew up attending Sequoia Heights Church. At age 10, Ray began attending camps at Jenness Park and quickly developed a passion for camp ministry, serving others, and building meaningful relationships. Over the years, he participated in camps, retreats, volunteer opportunities, and later served on summer staff while continuing to stay involved year-round. That passion for ministry has shaped Ray’s life and career, leading him through leadership roles in hospitality, operations, and nonprofit work centered around serving people and making a lasting impact.

During his time serving at Hume Lake Christian Camps, Ray met his wife, Sophia, and together they eventually made Tennessee home. Today, Ray is passionate about supporting families, building community, and helping others feel seen, valued, and encouraged. Outside of work, Ray enjoys working out, pickleball, disc golf, fishing, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
